Erratic DWI Driver Busted After 'Impeding Other Drivers' In Northern Westchester, Police Say

A Northern Westchester man was arrested for alleged drunk driving after police received several calls of an erratic driver.

Marco Chacha, age 38, of Croton-on-Hudson, was arrested on Sunday, June 6, after Yorktown Police received a report of an erratic driver on Commerce Street heading westbound on Route 202.

Chacha allegedly failed to maintain its lane multiple times and was being driven in a manner that was "impeding other vehicles," Yorktown Police said. 

When police stopped Chacha he was found to be intoxicated and arrested, police said.

A blood alcohol test taken following his arrest, registered at 0.18 percent, or more than twice the legal limit, police added.

He was charged with:

  • Aggravated DWI
  • DWI
  • Multiple traffic violations

Chacha was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, June 17.
